This Shoe Condition & Damage Disclaimer forms an integral part of Sole Shifu’s Terms of Service. By submitting footwear for cleaning or restoration, you acknowledge and agree to the terms outlined below.

1. Pre-Existing Condition Acknowledgement

Footwear submitted to Sole Shifu may already have signs of wear, aging, or damage, including but not limited to:

  • Discoloration, fading, or yellowing
  • Cracked or peeling leather or synthetic materials
  • Weak or degraded adhesives
  • Sole separation or brittleness
  • Fabric thinning, tears, or mesh damage

Sole Shifu shall not be responsible for any issues arising from pre-existing conditions.

2. Material & Age-Related Risks

Due to the nature of footwear materials and aging:

  • Older shoes may be structurally fragile
  • Certain dyes may bleed or fade during cleaning
  • Heat, moisture, or cleaning agents may expose existing weaknesses
  • Glue and paint may deteriorate over time

Customers acknowledge that such risks are inherent to footwear servicing.

3. Cleaning Limitations

  • Not all stains, odors, or marks can be completely removed.
  • Results may vary depending on material, construction, and prior care.
  • Sole Shifu does not guarantee complete stain removal or uniform color restoration.

4. Restoration Service Disclaimer

  • Restoration services are performed on a best-effort basis.
  • Restored footwear may not appear “brand new” or identical to original factory condition.
  • Color matching, repainting, or sole repairs may show minor variations.
  • Structural integrity cannot be guaranteed for heavily worn or aged footwear.

5. Risk Acceptance

By placing an order with Sole Shifu, customers expressly acknowledge and accept that:

  • Minor cosmetic changes may occur
  • Existing damage may become more visible after cleaning
  • Rare cases of further deterioration may occur due to material limitations

Such outcomes do not constitute service failure.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • Sole Shifu shall not be liable for damage resulting from pre-existing conditions, material aging, or manufacturing defects
  • Liability, if any, shall be limited to the amount paid for the specific service
  • Sole Shifu shall not be responsible for indirect or consequential losses

7. Customer Consent

Submission of footwear to Sole Shifu constitutes:

  • Confirmation that the customer understands the risks involved
  • Acceptance of this disclaimer
  • Consent to proceed with the selected service

8. Updates to Disclaimer

This disclaimer may be updated periodically. Any changes will be posted on the website with a revised “Last updated” date. Continued use of services constitutes acceptance of the updated disclaimer.
